What is a subscription box?

It’s like getting a Christmas present in the mail every month-how fun is that?! Seriously, kids and adults alike LOVE presents. And I think that whoever came up with the idea of a subscription box (a.k.a. awesome monthly present) is BRILLIANT! A subscription box is a different package or box of products sent to you on a recurring basis. Woohoo!

Who are the Buddies in the Buddy Boxes?

They’re my friends! We were all created by the amazingly creative people at Group Publishing, and we’ve been singing, dancing, and getting to know kids around the world through Group’s vacation Bible school programs since 2001! As the head Buddy around here, I talked to my friends at Group and my friends at Lifetree Family and pitched the idea to let us come into your homes to help your kids get to know Jesus better. And they said YES! We’re buzzing with excitement and can’t wait to meet you!

What's inside a Buddy Box?

Every month a Buddy Box swarming with goodies will buzz its way into your mailbox. It’ll be packed with un-BEE-lievable surprises! Your child will meet one of my friends each month, who will guide him or her through the box, which includes awesome goodies like collectible trading cards; a colorful booklet oozing with how-to’s for games, science experiments, crafts, jokes, and fun stuff to do with your family; tons of cool stickers; new ways to pray and grow closer to God; downloadable Christian music to really rock out to; surprising videos; and more!

Can I pick my box themes each month?

Hey, that’s my job! I’m busy buzzing about, selecting one of my friendly Buddies and a new theme for every month. I know kids so well—I pick themes I know your kids will love, and I try to match the themes to big events happening in kids’ lives like back-to-school and holidays. Your kids won’t be disappointed!

For what ages is Buddy Box appropriate?

Of course “kids” of all ages love critters like us! But we created Buddy Box especially for kids in elementary school (ages 6-11).

How does a monthly Buddy Box subscription work?

Choose the plan that’s right for you, and we’ll send you a uniquely new and surprisingly fun Buddy Box every month! I hope you pick the 12-month plan—it’s the best deal. Plus I don’t want your kids to miss out on meeting any of my friends!

How does Buddy Box work for siblings?

I encourage sharing, of course. But if you find yourself wishing you could order more of the per-child items in the box, let me know. I’ll keep track of the requests, and we may offer child booster packs in the future! Buzz me at buzzly@lifetreefamily.com.

 

Gifting Buddy Boxes

Can I give Buddy Box as a gift?

You are un-BEE-lievable! What a lucky child to have you in his or her life! Of course you can give Buddy Box as a gift. Simply use the “gift it” link in the menu above.

How do gift subscriptions work?

Step 1.  On the “gift it” page, select the number of boxes you’d like to send to your loved one.

Step 2. Fill out all the fields on the checkout page, including an email address for the gift recipient (we recommend the parent’s or guardian’s email address).

Step 3. An email will be sent to the gift recipient on your behalf. The recipient will claim the gift and enter the shipping address where they want their Buddy Box to arrive.

Do gift subscriptions automatically renew?

Nope! Unlike our “non-gift” subscriptions, gift subscriptions don’t automatically renew. Once recipients have received the number of boxes in the plan you selected, they won’t receive any more boxes until you or someone else renews the subscription for them.

I'm the recipient of a Buddy Box gift subscription - what do I do know?

WOW—lucky you! Follow the link in the email you received to claim your gift and enter your shipping address. You will also be prompted to set up a login/account so you can manage your gift subscription down the road.

 

Nuts and Bolts of the Buddy Box Subscription Plans

Where do Buddy Box subscriptions ship?

We currently ship Buddy Boxes to anyone in the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska.

When does Buddy Box ship each month?

We ship Buddy Boxes the first week of every month.

Can I choose the month in which I want my subscription to begin?

I’m sorry, but this is not a feature we can currently offer. Once you subscribe, you’ll be on deck to receive our next box. If you have a specific month in mind—you’ll want to subscribe between the 1st and 20th of the prior month. (For example, if you want the October box, you’ll need to subscribe between September 1 and September 20.)

Can I skip a month?

We realize you may need to skip a month from time to time, like when you take an awesome vacation or something like that. So, yes—you can skip a month. Click on the “login” link at the top right of your screen on the FamilyBuddyBox.com website. Use the email and password you set up when you first ordered your Buddy Box. (If you’ve forgotten your password—no problem! Simply click the “forgot password” link, and follow the steps listed.) Once you’re logged in, you will see a section called “Your Subscription(s).” Click to edit your subscription. Depending on your plan, the button will either say “Skip Next Renewal” or “Skip Next Month.” Click the button, hit “change,” and you’re done.

How do I update my shipping address?

It’s simple! Click on the “login” link at the top right of your screen on the FamilyBuddyBox.com website. Use the email and password you set up when you first ordered your Buddy Box. (If you’ve forgotten your password, simply click the “forgot password” link, and follow the steps listed.) Once you’re logged in, click the “edit” button in the Shipping Address area. Update your address, and click “save.”

When will my renewal be billed?

Great question! We process all renewals on the 10th of every month, which is the billing for the following month. If you’re on a 3-, 6-, or 12-month plan, you’ll be billed on the 10th of the month after your last box is received, and you’ll be renewed for the same length term.

How do I update my billing information?

It’s simple! Click on the “login” link at the top right of your screen on the FamilyBuddyBox.com website. Use the email and password you set up when you first ordered your Buddy Box. (If you’ve forgotten your password, simply click the “forgot password” link, and follow the steps listed.) Once you’re logged in, click the “edit” button in the Credit Card area. Update your card, and click “save.”

Can I turn off auto-renew/cancel my subscription?

Aw, shucks! We hate to see you go. But if you must, click on the “login” link at the top right of your screen on the FamilyBuddyBox.com website. Use the email and password you set up when you first ordered your Buddy Box. (If you’ve forgotten your password—no problem! Simply click the “forgot password” link, and follow the steps listed.) Once you’re logged in, you’ll see a section called “Your Subscription(s).” Click to edit your subscription. Hit the “cancel subscription” button, kindly tell us why you’re cancelling so we know how to make Buddy Boxes even better, and hit “yes, cancel me.” And the good news is—when you discover how much your child misses us—you can reactivate at any time!

NOTE: If you’re subscribed to one of our 3-, 6-, or 12-month plans and still have boxes/months remaining, you’ll continue to receive the rest of the boxes in your subscription.

What is the Buddy Box cancellation/refund policy?

As much as my friends and I would hate to see you go, we understand that you might need to…

  1. For month-to-month subscriptions: To avoid receiving the next box, you’ll need to cancel before you’re re-billed for the next month. Cancel on or before the 9th of any month, and you won’t be billed for or receive the next month’s box.
  2. For 3-, 6-, or 12-month subscriptions: Cancelling one of these subscriptions is like turning off your auto-renew: You won’t be billed for another term once you’ve received all the boxes in your term. (For example, if you have a 6-month subscription and you cancel after you receive your fourth box, you’ll still receive two more boxes but won’t be billed for another six months after that.) Cancel on or before the 9th of the month your renewal is to be processed. Your renewal will be processed on the 10th of the month that your final box is received.
  3. Refunds can be issued on boxes that have not shipped. To request a refund, email subscriptions@lifetreefamily.com.

What if I refuse my package or send my box back?

If we receive a box back at Buddy Box headquarters, we’ll take that as a sign you want to cancel your subscription, and we’ll cancel your subscription for you. However, refunds are only issued on boxes that haven’t shipped. To avoid being billed for a box you don’t want, refer to our cancellation policy above.
